Screw The Backlash, Belle Knox Just Landed Herself A Sexy New Web Series

Belle knoxs stripping Debut at Headquarters

It looks like Belle Knox is here to stay–for the time being at least–she will be appearing in a web series called The Sex Factor. It’s like The X Factor but with competitions based on how many penises you can fit in your holes, or something.

Knox will be serving as the show’s host, leading a panel of porn star judges including such household names as Tori Black, Lexi Belle, Keiran Lee and Remy LaCroix. No one explicitly explained the competition, but my guess is that it’s for the best porn-doing. The winner gets $1 million, so, it seems pretty legit. Apparently, “the finalists will be whittled down to eight guys and eight girls, and fans will be able to vote on their ‘challenges,’ who should be booted off, and even the hopefuls’ porn names.” What might these challenges entail? I can only imagine. Maybe for their first one, they could remake the Miley Cyrus porn, which I found to be lacking.

This comes as somewhat disappointing news to those of us who are starting to experience Belle Knox fatigue. She clearly has some sort of staying power–her career has skyrocketed and she landed herself a sex toy deal based on her own coveted anatomy. While it’s pretty awesome that Knox is paying her way through college doing porn, Knox as the voice of the porn industry is growing a bit tiresome. Her way of talking about porn at first sounded fantastically radical and proud, but it has devolved a bit. Maybe I sound like a fourteen-year-old scenester who’s upset that her favorite pop punk band has started playing bigger venues, and so I’ll leave it to actual porn stars to explain:

These tweets–from a few weeks back at the height of Knox-mania–illustrate a good point about the whole Knox situation–porn is an industry just like any other, and I’d imagine it’d be very frustrating to have a newcomer suddenly become the representative of your field, regardless of her being the best spokesperson or not (many porn stars have written eloquently about porn–Stoya comes to mind).

So either the industry will burn out on Knox and she’ll fade into relative obscurity, or she’ll continue to be the spokesman of an industry that is growing somewhat resentful of her as their representative. Either way, Knox looks like she’s doing pretty well for herself, and like it or not, she’ll probably be a part of our consciousness for a while to come.

Sorry, James Deen, but I saw The Canyons and would definitely not vote for you off of that performance. Anyone else think that America’s Next Top Porn Star would have been a way better reality format for this competition?

        hahahah ANTPS. I like it

Definitely has a ring to it!

I really, really agree with this.
While I love that Belle Knox is so proud of being a sex worker, I think it’s absurd that all of a sudden she’s the voice of the porn industry because she goes to Duke and is in many ways classically respectable. What about Stoya, seriously? Is she not a valid voice of the porn industry just because she uses porn to finance her weird, awesome life, instead of a traditional education? Belle Knox is undeniably awesome, or at least she seems that way based on her writing, but I don’t know that she’s an awesome spokeswoman for the porn industry.

Those are some veteran pornstars, and yet a newbie like Knox is alongside them? Her work is not even that good, honestly.
