Emma Stone’s New Ombre Red Hair Proves The Trend Isn’t Even Close To Being Over

I’m not sure how it’s fair that Emma Stone is a talented dramatic actress, an effortless comedy star, a fashion icon, an outspoken feminist, and dating Spider-Man Andrew Garfield, but she just took it one step further and added Perfect Hair to her resumé. Stone debuted a gorgeous new cut and color this morning at a New York City press event, and I can’t stop staring at it.

First of all, those bangs. She’s been rocking the side-swept look for a while now, but this shaggy cut really works for her. It’s flirty and sexy and playful… but somehow looks grownup at the same time. It’s a style that Olivia Wilde has mastered, and it looks great on Emma, too. How are we more drawn to her bright eyes when they’re half covered? It takes a strong personality to make this look work so well.

And can we talk about that gorgeous color? Emma is a natural blonde, but she’s been a redhead for most of her big movies– she went strawberry for The Help, and her signature auburn dye job added to the charm of Easy A, Superbad, Zombieland, and my favorite guilty pleasure flick, The House Bunny– so it’s really cool that she’s found something in between the two colors. As far as trends go, ombre seems to be on its way out (making room for Easter egg-colored hair, a la Katy Perry‘s bright green and Kelly Osbourne‘s lavender), but if anyone can make it stick around, it’s Emma. I love seeing her real-life blonde and her movie-star red come together in perfect harmony. Work it, girl.
