The Internet is always ripe with memes, but few are as entertaining as ones that involve photoshopping celebrities and their body parts. Today, we examine the fantastically weird phenomenon of Zooeyes, a Tumblr that involves adding Zooey Deschanel‘s eyes to the faces of various male celebrities.
From Ian McKellen as Gandalf to Food Network’s human chia pet Guy Fieri, no one is safe from obtaining the bright eyes of Ms. Deschanel. Politicians and world leaders, too: even President Barack Obama was given the royal Zooeyes treatment by the brilliant blog. Unfortunately, these guys cannot actually sprout her impossibly lush lashes nor suddenly have those doll-like baby blues (well, actually, Ian McKellen already does and has for like 75 years), but we are banking on that being the next big celebrity-inspired “enhancement” that people start opting for. Pretty soon, we will see strangers on the street with giant Gollum-like eyeballs because they couldn’t stop themselves after the first round. (I’m getting a little too into this theory, I know.)
Guys With Zooeyes, featuring Guy with Zooeyes! No but really, Guy Fieri looks better like this, I think. Terrifying, sure, but it sort of fits his television personality in a way I’m not sure I fully understand yet.
Making Meth 101 with Heisenberg the Happy.
Glad Men, starring Jon Lamb.
I’ma let you finish, but first I’m gonna apply this Rimmel London Mascara to my upper lashes.
While this is a sufficiently terrifying thing to see on the Internet, is it silly that I am extra excited to not be reporting on a photoshop story involving women’s (and babies‘) bodies being unreasonably warped via overzealous editors? Sure, Zooeyes will haunt all our dreams with mason jars filled with monsters, but whatever! This is certainly better than the alternative, right?
