Is that a yellow concealer? MAC recently announced that they were taking a trip to Springfield for a collection inspired by the town’s favorite matriarch, Marge Simpson. Of all the MAC collaborations (real and I-hope-they-come-true fantasies), this was one of the most interesting ones. Recently, there has been partnerships with Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Proenza Schouler and Lorde. The Simpsons x MAC collaboration was the only one to ignite many debates about yellow foundation and how they would incorporate Marge’s signature blue hair.
Now MAC have released a sneak peek of the collection and–surprise!–yellow and electric blue feature prominently.
Check out that packaging! The ten piece collection includes eyeshaow, MAC’s signature lipglass, nail stickers and blush. There is also that suspicious yellow bottle that looks like it could be a yellow concealer to match Marge’s marigold skin, or it could just be a vibrant eyeshadow. Either way, it’s awesome.
Marge is equally pleased with the collection:
“They’re all so great, but I must say that Lisa’s Spikes really works well with my skin tone and of course, Beehive Blue complements my hair perfectly.”
Based on that description, it looks like the collection has awesome makeup names too. I’m assuming “Lisa’s spikes” is the lashes and hopefully not some new tortuous beauty tool.
The collection launches online on August 28th, and in stores on September 4th. If you can’t wait to get your hands on an eyeshadow that perfectly matches your gravity-defying blue beehive, the collection will be available one day during Comic-Con on July 26th, at the MAC Cosmetics Gaslamp store located at 234 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92191. What!? Is there no MAC store in Springfield?
