Two of summer’s trickier trends dominated the red carpet at the Young Hollywood Awards: crop tops and white. I hope they remembered to pack their stain remover because almost every celeb was wearing white. Clearly they don’t have the fears we have about the bad things that will definitely happen if we wear white, because the stars were brave enough to wear the color and walk the red carpet, risking stains, spills and visible panty lines in front of the photographers and fans. Don’t worry, the event didn’t look like a matchy-matchy Kardashian wedding, some celebrities experimented with black (the default evening wear color) and there were some cute red floral dresses too. Take a look:
1. Ashley Tisdale
I love the metallic feather print of Ashley Tisdale‘s dress. I am also happy that she did not borrow BFF Vanessa Hudgens‘ feathered bag (#10) because that would have been too much plumage.
2. Jessica Lowndes
Jessica Lowndes may not have went with the night’s favorite color, white, but she stuck with the popular crop top, and added an illusion cutout.
3. Bella Thorne
4. Colbie Caillat
No, Colbie Caillat isn’t wearing an armband. It looks like she tried out a few of those new temporary jewelry tattoos. Thoughts?
5. Ariel Winter
Ariel Winter stood out among the sea of white gowns, in a vibrant floral pattern. Not to be left out of the night’s big color(less) trend, she opted for white sandals.
6. Marie Avgeropoulos
Marie Avgeropoulos wasn’t the only girl to wear black to the YHA, but she was the only one to wear a two-toned black jumpsuit. Nice chartreuse heels.
7. Danielle Campbell
Danielle Campbell traded in her crop top for cutouts, and turned a simple LWD into a subtly sexy one.
8. Kelly Osbourne
Leave it to Kelly Osbourne to put her edgy spin on the night’s white trend. The triangular mirrored embellishment on her dress is so much cooler than boring old sequins.
9. Maddie Hassen
Maddie Hassen may have gone for a minimalist look, but I can’t take my eyes off that Gobstopper-sized single pearl necklace. This is the first pearl necklace that actually looks young–and cool.
10. Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens added her signature touch of boho with arms stacked with bangles and a
handful finger full of rings.
11. Audrina Patridge
Truthfully, I’m not entirely sure what Audrina Patridge was doing at the Young Hollywood Awards in 2014, but I am glad to see that she came because I like the lace overlay on these white separates.
12. McKaley Miller
Besides Ariel, McKaley Miller was the only other celeb to try a colored floral print. I hope they don’t end up on a “Who Wore It Best” list because they both look cute.
