It seems like just last week I was crowdsourcing you folks for ideas on what the eff to do with my boring, brown hair (it was actually just last month, but I digress). Thanks to your wonderful feedback, I decided to go blonde for a while before eventually taking myself to a vivid shade of blue. While I have prepped myself for the big switch to being a blonde–primarily emotionally–I have not done one of my own integral steps: deciding what kind of blonde I want to be. And I’m going blonde at Hairroin Salon TONIGHT. In like three hours, guys.
Obviously I want to be a Mae West, but she was in black and white for the most part so I think I’ll just show you guys photos of people whose hair tones and dynamics you can actually see.
First of all, here is a recent photo of my face with my makeup the way it usually is:
And since I will also have this hair color when I am not wearing beauty products, here is a very straightforward photo from last week’s big move sans makeup, dry shampoo, sleep and sanity.
This model and I have pretty similar levels of paleness, so hopefully this would look decent on me, too. It’s a light, delicate blonde that feels demure, which would be a nice thing to try out.
Choice 2: Ash blonde with lots of lowlights and dimension.
I love Amanda Seyfried‘s hair here; it’s got tons of dimension and variations in hue, making it very texturally appealing.
Choice 3: Warm, solid blonde.
I positively love Rita Ora‘s hair and most things she does, but would this be too flat for me? Warm colors don’t look great with my skin tone typically so this one is probably the one I’m most apprehensive about, but figured I would throw it in in case anybody else has some insight.
Choice 4: Cool platinum blonde.
I’ve wanted platinum blonde like Kimberley Wyatt‘s for ages, but it definitely is less natural than the rest of these options. I saw a woman about my age riding the train a few months ago with a messy platinum blonde bob like this and have been obsessed with the idea ever since, though I am very pale so I’m unsure if it would be too much with my skin tone.
So, which should I do? Vote and, if you have any advice, pop it in the comments!
[UPDATE: I went blonde! And violet. Check it out right here!]
