Every Kind Of Selfie We Expect To See On Anne Hathaway’s New Instagram

"Charles James: Beyond Fashion" Costume Institute Gala - Arrivals

I’m not her biggest fan, but I’ve never understood why there was such a harsh backlash against Anne Hathaway around Oscars season in The Year Of Celebrities Over-Pronouncing “Les Miserables.” She’s a character, for sure, but I kind of dig what she’s selling. That’s why I’m pumped to see that she’s just joined Instagram. My imagination is running wild with ideas about what her feed is going to end up looking like… so here are my predictions for future Anne selfies.

1. So much #NoMakeup, so much #NoFilter.

Anne really sells her “I’m just just like you” schtick, so I imagine she’s going to take the whole I woke up like this trend to the next level.

2. The “I Dreamed A Dream” Pose.

No matter what she goes on to do in her career, Anne’s always going to be remembered for shriveling up, chopping her hair, and belting it out in the world’s most overrated stage-to-screen adaptation. I won’t be surprised if half of her selfies involve staring wistfully into the distance.

3. Empowering messages.

I’ve always loved that she’s an outspoken feminist, and I can totally see her becoming one of those celebs who posts a string of inspirational quotes in place of, like, actual Instagram pictures.

4. Something to remind us that she was Catwoman.

Superheroes movies are generally overhyped and overrated, but I’ve barely ever heard a peep about Anne’s performance in that catsuit. I don’t know why it never caught on, but I can totally see her walking around behind Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldana and being like, “Hey. Hey. Remember how we’re all superheroes? Hey. Guys.”

5. Amazing makeup and clothes transformations.

She’s starred in two of the most famous movies about awkward chicks who start wearing designer clothes (The Princess Diaries is my life, and The Devil Wears Prada is my go-to Saturday morning rewatch) so I’ll be disappointed if we never see side-by-side selfies of her going from drab to fab.
