The Gloss Editors Pick: The Fashion Trends We Are Ready to Say Goodbye to in 2016

Fashion Trends OverIt is the end of a year, which means it is the time to reflect on the last 12 months and consider what we want to change in the upcoming year. When it comes to fashion, 2015 had a lot of interesting trends that were actually wearable. Crop tops continued to be a must-have items in everyone’s wardrobes and on the red carpet. The 1970′s gave the much-loved 1990′s some competition for most popular decade. Skinny scarves, chokers and lace-up flats were covetable accessories. As much as we loved a lot of the trends, 2016 is a time for change and we are ready for something fresh.

There are the trends that we have had our fill of:

1. Jillian Lucas: Fringeattends the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on August 30, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.Fringe may be fun to play with, but Jillian has had her fill of fringe. Shes states, “No more fringe please. I’m so done with it. It’s had it’s moment and it’s time to move on.”

2. Sara Steinfeld: Crop Topsamas gigi hadid

Crop tops have been everywhere for a long time and Sara is o-v-e-r them. She explains, “I hate crop tops with everything I have.” She doesn’t need to elaborate more than that.

3. Heather Cichowski: Illusion DressesJennifer Lopez Vanity Fair Oscars 2015

I agree with Sara about the crop tops, but one red carpet trend that I do not want to see in 2016 is illusion dresses. They were cool when people first started wearing them, but they have been done to death. They feel tired, and even when celebs try to “out naked each other,” it still feels old.

4. Sara Steinfeld: Furry ShoesFurry Shes

Ugly shoes were a surprising trend this year thanks to normcore, but it isn’t those that Sara has a problem with. She dislikes their furry cousins. She says, “[I am over] furry shoes. Because we are not Muppets.” No we are not.

5. Kristyn Filip: “Naked” DressesBeyonce Met Gala Illusion DressLike me, Kristyn is over the whole I’m-wearing-a-dress-but-do-not-look-like-I-am thing. She says, “I feel like I’ve been saying this for years, but I am beyond tired of ‘naked’ dresses. At this point, they’re blah. I’d love to see a resurgence of bright and bold colors and fabrics on the red carpet in 2016.”
