Awards season is just beginning and once again, the red carpet is showcasing the best and worst of celeb fashion.

From the ridiculous (and terrible) jokes by the usually funny Ricky Gervais (Has he jumped the shark? Do these reactions to his horribly unfunny monologue show it?), to the myriad amount of capes and cutouts, the Golden Globes were full of some talked about moments. Is Leo gawking at Lady Gaga walking passed him or is that a little shade thrown in there for bumping his arm off his chair? The world may never know. But what we do know is that red carpet was full of some amazing looks, and also, some not so great.

Here are the best and worst looks of the 2016 Golden Globes.

Alicia Vikander

Newcomer to the red carpet, Alicia Vikander, killed it. This patchwork, apron-inspired Louis Vuitton piece is perfect on her. The low sides and slight ruffle detail on the neck showcase her natural beauty look.

Kate Bosworth

GettyImages-504394702I saw this first as she teased it on her Instagram and I was so ready for it to be flawless. And it was. I mean, it’s Dolce & Gabbana so what else would you expect? I’m usually skeptical of all-over sparkle but wow, this is how you do sequin from head-to-toe. She also killed it in her after-party look too.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is coming into her own with fashion and I absolutely love the path she is taken. She is edgy, and the best way to pair her edgy personality and ways, is to go the opposite direction, like she did her in a velvet, Old Hollywood-inspired off-the-shoulder gown.

Cate Blanchett

Melissa Benoist

73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsAnother red carpet newcomer, the Supergirl star did it pretty perfectly. The subtle floral detail and simple heels balance out the very structured shape of the gown. This is how you do young and fun on the carpet.

Laverne Cox

GettyImages-504520114It really doesn’t feel like a completel Best Dressed list without including Laverne Cox. Straying away from her usual bold colors, this white, high-neck gown is just gorgeous (do you expect anything else?) and I love the Mother of Pearl clutch.
