Kylie Jenner Is Launching a Nail Polish Line, and I Don’t Think My Little Heart Can Take It

Kylie Jenner‘s mission to take over the cosmetics world is officially in full swing. Just one week after rebranding her Lip Kit website to Kylie Cosmetics, she’s officially making moves into the world of nail polish. I’m still kind of getting over the fact that I wasn’t able to get my hands on Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits (again), so I don’t really know how to handle this news. Honestly, I think I’m in shock.

WWD reports that Kylie is working on a 20-piece collection of jewel-toned shades with SinfulColors called the King Kylie Collection. If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, is kind of a coup for anyone who wants to pick all things Kylie Jenner: each polish shade will retail for $2.99, a welcome deviation from the high price tags that accompanied the Lip Kits. The publication released the first ad for the collab, which features four of the 20 shades, and I’m already a little bit in love with the whole peacock-esque feel of it:

If the move toward creating lip products seemed like a natural step, a nail polish collection is even more so. I mean, Kylie has been rocking bright, statement-making stiletto nails for quite some time now. She told WWD,

“I love getting my nails done and nails in general…I wanted to do something innovative and accessible to my young fans. The colors are great for all skin tones, too.”

I kind of love the surprising amount of thought that seems to have gone into the collab. I’m sure a common complaint among Kylie’s younger fans is that her Lip Kits aren’t easy to get a hold of, both price- and retail-wise. Working with an objectively inexpensive line that’s available in nearly every drugstore is a great way for Kylie to reach out to her entire fan base and a clever way to expand her beauty empire.

On the SinfulColors front, they’re obviously excited to get this collab off the ground. The brands head of marketing Blake Decker said,

“We didn’t want to just put a face on the product. We desired someone with the insight into the category and someone who is a big influencer with Millennials. We decided to dream high; dream big.”

The SinfulColors general manager Rahul Mehrotra added,

“We are glad the next product with her name on it is SinfulColors. We think that this collaboration will energize the nail category by driving Millennial traffic to the store.”

For once, I’m willing to look past all of the Millennial BS, because I’m just so freakin’ excited. In addition to the full makeup line that Kylie has promised to launch later this year, this collab is the first of three limited-edition nail collections with SinfulColors. The second and third are set to roll out in April and May respectively, making this potentially the best spring ever.
