Red Carpet Rundown: The Best Beauty Of The 2014 Golden Globes
The 71st Golden Globe Awards red carpet revealed quite a few wonderful outfits and more than a few terrible ones, but even some of the people whose looks fell into the latter category still had a chance at having an amazingly put together beauty look.
And speaking of bad-looks-gone-good-makeup, Joanna Newsom‘s ridiculous Southern belle costume was made somewhat redeemable by her beautifully soft pink lip and perfectly chosen blush shade.
I will always love you like George Clooney loves sorority girls, Helen Mirren‘s Perfect Hair.
…And Helen Mirren’s Perfect Nails.
I might be the only person who was down with Drew Barrymore‘s dress, but I feel like a lot of people thought her makeup was pretty snazzy. She just looked like one big Valentine’s Day card. I love it.
You can laugh, but I think Jared Leto‘s ponytail looked bangin’.
And so did his facial hair! Do me, Adult Jordan Catalano.
Caitlin Fitzgerald looked simple and cute with this lovely and wavy blonde bob.
When we saw Lupita Nyong’o onscreen, my roommate gasped a little. She looked f’d up good, coordinating her lip color to her dress perfectly without doing an opaque red. A+.
Sarah Hyland: “Meh” dress, weird brows, but I’m loving those braids.
I wasn’t into Kerry Washington‘s dress, sadly, but I did love her perfectly balanced makeup. And face.
…And nails.
I’m pretty into Lizzy Caplan‘s retro fingerwaves and lightly smokey bronze eye makeup.
I didn’t think Kaley Cuoco‘s makeup and hair went well with her dress, but her greenish gold manicure was lovely.
I got a press release saying Lena Dunham‘s makeup was done by TEMPTU Airbrush Makeup. And I’m not gonna lie, I can kind of tell that it was airbrushed by somebody who knew what they were doing. I’m into it. I like her cute, wavy hairdo, too.
Zoe Saldana‘s dress wasn’t great, but her makeup was flawless.
