Ali Lohan is not just Lindsay Lohan‘s little sister (or Dina Lohan‘s taller meal ticket) (or Michael Lohan‘s, for that matter)–she is her own separate person. She is also still trying to make this modeling thing happen.

But! She’s trying a new approach. Rather than doing editorials in extremely second string publications, possibly moving around parts of her face for attention and fanning the flames of eating disorder speculation, Ali’s decided to take a more legitimate approach. After cutting her teeth in Korea, she’s returned to the states and 1) signed with Wilhelmina in New York and 2) adopted the model uniform that unoriginal street style photographers go nuts for (“dark skinny jeans, leather jacket, black moto boots”).

WWD spoke with Ali this week about her modeling aspirations, though “Lindsay Lohan” are the first two words of the profile and the currently-rehabbing star is mentioned eight times after that. For example:

WWD: Have Lindsay’s troubles made you wary of pursuing fame?
I want to make the most out of the word ‘fame.’ I want to do good things with my fame, or whatever it is. I want to help and do charity work. There’s something going on in Chile right now with the water, so I think I’m going to down there in a month to help out. My grandfather worked with charities his whole entire life, and we grew up living with him. He always told me about the other side of the world and everything that’s going on.

But, the question on everyone’s mind…

WWD: Do you feel that you have the stigma of “Lindsay Lohan’s sister”?

A.L.: No, not at all. I feel like I’m Aliana and I’m just trying to work like every other model. I don’t want to be put on any platform. And I don’t think that I have been.

Despite the absolutely inarguable fact that Lindsay Lohan is the only reason any one of us know who Ali Lohan is, we’d like to give Ali a little bit of credit: judging by her Korean modeling photos (top right) she has the tiniest bit of Mariacarla Boscono going on.

…So, in terms of “less substantive little sisters of unfortunately famous other people,” she’s outranking Kendall Jenner.
