Despite Amanda Bynes progressively making me more and more nervous regarding her state of wellbeing, she went on (another) Twitter rant last night that actually revealed something that was (A) non-frightening (B) very honest and (C) not involving vagina murder. In it, she explains why she got plastic surgery and why she tries to get publications to only use her new photos.
Intouch used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I’ve asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don’t look like that anymore! I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes. I wasn’t going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don’t want old photos used anymore! I’m so sick of magazines and blogs using old photos! When will they stop? I will never look like that again! Having surgery was the most amazing thing for my confidence!
I am pretty sure celebrities requesting specific photos for the press to public is probably not going to work, particularly when all those shots involve a mirror and duck lips. That said, I’m stoked that she was super honest and unabashed about her plastic surgery.
This would somewhat explain how different she looks from photos these days versus just a few years ago. Granted, she also got cheek piercings, shaved half her head, changed her makeup routine, bleached her hair, wears fake eyelashes seemingly all the time and twerks a lot, all of which will make you look unfamiliar to others, but still: I occasionally wondered if there was something more. Apparently, there was, and kudos to Amanda Bynes for being honest about that. While I don’t believe anybody owes the public any information on their plastic surgery, it is strangely nice to see a person be honest and open about such a taboo subject.
