Amy Adams, whom I will love forever because of the movie Junebug, just gave an interview to Parade magazine about being a new mom. Most of the time when you see new mothers in the media, it’s an article about how quickly they lost all their baby weight, and it just makes regular new moms who don’t have personal trainers or live-in nannies feel bad about themselves. But Adams doesn’t want to be one of them. When asked the inevitable body-after-baby question, she said:

I’ve been working out when I can, and I’m trying to eat in a healthful way, but losing weight is not my number-one priority. It’s part of my job to return to some semblance of what I was before. But I don’t feel I’ve ever made my career on my rockin’ bod.

That sounds a lot more honest (and realistic!) than “I lost twenty pounds in five minutes by eating only carbs and refined sugars,” that’s for sure.
