It’s fun to see all of the imaginative, and sometimes completely crazy looks from fashion week, but the question everyone wants to know the answer to is “what can I actually wear?” It’s great someone tried rainbow brows, but most of us probably aren’t going to be wearing them to Sunday brunch. Just like New York and Milan, London Fashion Week gave us plenty of beauty inspiration that those of us who aren’t bloggers can wear.
Check out 10 beauty looks from London Fashion Week that work in real life:
No one can have too many red lipsticks. This warm red is striking, especially when paired with natural eyes and cheeks. Everyone should save this photo for the next haircut. Jourdan Dunn‘s bob is flawless.
Easy schoolgirl hair is a huge trend for spring and thankfully it doesn’t require too much effort. Just clips your front layers back and go. The barely there lip stain is also worth a try.
If you’re convinced that colored eyeshadow is only for Halloween, take a look at this. You could probably get away with this during the day.
What would spring be without a few braid trends? If you’re in a summery mood, pair it with the heavily bronzed cheeks shown here.
5. Voluminous Hair, Matthew Williamson
This is fresh-from-the-salon shampoo commercial hair. It’s shiny, it’s silky, and it’s very Kate Middleton. Invest in a good humidity-proof serum and start practicing now. I’m also tempted to try that soft purple eyeshadow, but concentrating it more on the lid.
I haven’t considered that there are other ways to put my hair up other than slick it straight back. This V-part frames your face and doesn’t require that much extra effort.
Just like at NYFW, some of London’s beauty looks were inspired by Brigitte Bardot. A flick of liner, neutrals lips, and slightly tousled hair are all you need. It helps if you are a Brigitte doppelganger like Georgia May Jagger.
If you’re in the market for a new shade of lipstick, the Antonio Berardi show is a good source of inspiration. Models walked the runway in a variety of bold lipstick colors from burgundy to orange-red to pink, all finished with a slick of clear gloss.
You will either love or hate the tousled hair, but underneath that voluminous mane, the makeup is surprisingly wearable. This soft black smokey eye and nude lipstick should be your new evening look.
The “no makeup” look should enhance your features. The iridescent shadow in the inner corners of the eye makes them sparkle, while the subtle contouring enhances your cheekbones (having a model’s bone structure helps).
