2013 Nascar Awards at Wynn Las Vegas

Celebrities say ridiculous and exasperating things often enough to keep this site in business, so it’s not really surprising that some desperate comedian went on a body shaming rant against Alyssa Milano.

Jay Mohr, who’s famous enough to have a Wikipedia page but irrelevant enough for me to only know him as “I think he was on SNL for a little bit?” has decided it’s time for people to hear his name. In a recent radio interview, Mohr talked about attending the (apparently real) NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards, where he was deeply offended to see that Alyssa Milano has body fat:

She was one of the presenters. She’s very tiny, in height… It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a shit.’ I read it on her gut. Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing any Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.’

Charming! It’s always weird to read something like this, because in The Gloss universe, not giving a shit about your post-baby weight is a majorly commendable quality. First of all, Milano is a mom, and you’re pretty much a world-class asshat if you’re going to judge a mother for not devoting her entire life to meeting your standard of hotness. Second of all, childless women are also under no obligation to look a certain way. And third of all, if you think it’s a virtue to wear shapewear, you’ve clearly never tried on shapewear. I’m a huge fan of not wearing Spanx, and I’m therefore a huger fan of actresses who are cool enough with their bodies to forgo the pain and lack of circulation that comes along with sucking in your gut all night.

Luckily, though, Alyssa doesn’t need us to defend her. The smoking hot actress fired back in an ultra-classy tweet:

@jaymohr37 So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife.
