It’s December, which means the holiday season is in full swing. We’re officially allowed to play Christmas carols, decorate our trees and put on the old Home Alone DVD. You may get some strange looks if you start walking around with a Santa hat, but you can celebrate the festive season right now with a holiday manicure. You don’t even need to use green polish. A red manicure with a few snowflakes, reindeer or sparkles makes it obvious enough. And unlike a tacky Christmas sweater, a holiday manicure is jolly without being OTT.
Bring out your red nail polish and try one of these festive red manicures:
The snow, the Christmas tree, the Starbucks red cup, this sure puts you into the holiday spirit–no Christmas carols required.
This subtle design doesn’t scream “HAPPY HOLIDAYS” with glitter and reindeer, but it adds a subtle festive touch to your look.
It’s your choice if you want to add the Christmas tree, but really, you can’t have presents without a Christmas tree.
Red and white candy cane stripes are a classic. If you’re feeling very jolly, use a sparkly red polish.
This is super easy to do. Go buy some snowflake confetti, then apply them to your nails. Remember to finish with a few layers of top coat.
6. Sparkly Tips
Try to choose a sparkle nail polish that looks the most like snow. The result is a very festive French manicure.
These Christmas tree outlines are so simple and very easy to do, but they look so elegant.
These could almost be little stockings. To make it easier on yourself, look for a snowflake stamp.
If you don’t really like recreating 10 mini Santas, focus on one detail like his hat, boots, or belt.
Please do not confuse your nails with candy. They probably are a bit softer than peppermints, but they will definitely not taste as good.

There was Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen…you get the point. Just make sure you have a Rudolph.
12. Christmas Tree
Here’s a holiday moon manicure. I love how they used real sparkles on the tree as opposed to drawing them with nail polish.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. You don’t need all of your snowflakes to be super elaborate. Do one or two fancy ones, then stick with polka dots for the rest.
How adorable is this? The only question is, which one is the real Santa?
The red snowflakes on the contrasting white nails are a unique twist. Remember to finish them with a single sequin in the center
A snowman and candy cane stripes are the perfect complement to a shiny red manicure.
This pretty falling snow manicure makes me almost wish for it start snowing. “Almost” being the operative word.
You can appreciate how cute this is, even if you haven’t seen Despicable Me. Feel free to experiment and try it with your other favorite animated character.
