You can’t really exist in this world and not know about EmpireYou don’t have to watch or like, but you need to have at least some awareness of the show and its characters. I’m one of the aforementioned people who neither likes nor watches the show, but I am all about the Empire-inspired nail polish collection by Deborah Lippman and Hood By Air‘s Empire clothing collaboration. What can I say? I’m a sucker for good product, no matter what the inspiration is. Things are about to get even bigger, though: Covergirl just announced a new collaboration with the hit show, and I need it. I need it RIGHT. NOW.

They made the announcement, as so many brands do these days, on Instagram last night:

The caption reads,

“Power, drama & intrigue rule the #Empire…but not your makeup bag. Excited to announced that COVERGIRL has partnered with @EmpireFox on a limited-edition product collection & four stunning yet #easybreezy beauty looks inspired by the hit show’s leading ladies.”

While Taraji P. Henson is noticeably absent, I, for one, am not mad to see some beauty looks inspired by Gabourey SidibeSerayahKaitlin Doubleday, and Grace Gealey.

From the looks of thing, the Covergirl X Empire collab will feature, at the very least, four different lipstick shades, some kind of eyeliner conducive to a smokey eye, a shimmery eyeshadow and/or highlighter, and a product that’ll give us a contour that even Doubleday would be jealous of. All I know for sure is that if I don’t get my hands on Serayah’s lip color soon, I may actually explode, and no one wants to have to clean that up.

This is Covergirl’s latest pop culture collaboration after the launch of their Star Wars collab several months back. I’m not mad about it, but I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be opposed to a How To Get Away with Murder collection, or maybe, just maybe, something inspired by Bachelor In Paradise. But then again, maybe it’s ideas like those that make it a good thing that I’m not a member of Covergirl’s creative team.

While the official launch date for the collab hasn’t been released, it will likely coincide with the Empire‘s spring premiere, airing March 30. We’ll update this post when we know more.
