disney villain

I’m not one for entertainment-branded makeup collaborations, because I am not fun. But e.l.f.‘s new Disney Villains line seems like just the kind of novelty collaboration I can get behind: it’s affordable, available at drugstores, and EVIL.

The new product line features palettes that are each dedicated to my favorite Disney characters, including Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Urusla, and the Evil Queen. The palettes include eye shadow and liner, mascara, lip gloss, and brushes (Sam mentioned that e.l.f. brushes are especially great). The makeup looks surprisingly wearable—this isn’t over the top, costume make up. In addition to the palettes, e.l.f is also offering themed-nail polish, and I’m especially excited to try the dark grey option, and for when I’m feeling light and airy, the lighter grey.

Being a princess seems like a lot of getting made fun of for being poor or bookish and then putting on a big dress and marrying some dude you just met. And Disney princes aren’t even everyone’s type (except Prince Eric, who I’ll take any day). The villains get to wear awesome clothes a la Cruella de Vil, or be octopuses and have cool names like Ursula. Obviously it would be way more fun to be a Disney villain than a Disney princess, even though sometimes you end up dying in the end. Well, we all have to die sometime.

Here’s all four palettes and the nail polish collection:
