We always appreciate seeing fashion and beauty trends that we can actually wear at the Fashion Month shows. However, we also like to indulge in a bit of fantasy from time to time. It’s great to see a new lip color or negative space manicure that we can wear, but we also want to see what innovative things the beauty teams can come up with. You have the top makeup artists and hairstylists working on these shows so it is always exciting to see what they will dream up. And even if we may not be able to pull off massive hairballs and embellished face masks for everyday, we can always remember the looks for Halloween.
Here are the wildest beauty looks from Fashion Month:
Models also walked the runway without masks. The deep berry lips with high shine are actually quite wearable. However, most people aren’t going to be wearing an elastic or any other binding device on their face to get defined cheekbones.
The award for most whimsical beauty look might go to the Chalayan show. At first glance, it looks like models are sporting long pigtails. When you look more closely, you realize the pigtails are not attached to their heads.
3. Rick Owens
Models at the Rick Owens show looked like supersized hairballs. The had long shaggy manes that cascaded over their shoulders and faces.

The Blonds show always has a statement beauty look. Remember the crazy hair extensions at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 show? For Fall 2016, everything was dramatic including hair, makeup and nails. There was blonde and pink dreads, pink shadow, red lipstick, fishnet veils and ice cream nail art with chains.
We’re always looking for unique liner shapes. The Iceberg show featured models with stripes of pink, white or black liner going across the crease of their eyes.

One of the other looks at the Manish Arora show was this side ponytail with crimped hair. A lot of models sported crimped locks but this ponytail took the look to new heights.
For those who are afraid of color, the Fendi beauty look is something that you probably aren’t going to be attempting. Models’ eyes were decorated with multiple colors in whimsical patterns. Because that wasn’t enough, some of them also wore bold orange and yellow(!) lipstick.
8. Anthony Vaccarello
Now this is not your basic cat eye. The Anthony Vaccarello show had models sporting fantastical embellished flicks and exaggerated black liner. Perhaps we should actually be calling this a horn shape instead of a flick.
The Vivienne Westwood show always has unique beauty looks. Some models sported random scribbles of black eyeliner on their faces. Then there was this look. It could fall into the accessories category, but when it covers this much of the model’s face, it also counts as a makeup look.
Another beauty look involved models wearing short, blunt wigs. When hey turned around, you also realized that they were wearing long crazy-colored ponytail extensions.
The furry manicure at the Libertine show quickly made its way around the internet. If you are going to attempt it at home, note that things will get very hairy.
