It’s fashionable because it has the world “velvet” in its name. Also, because sometimes I dream about people wearing clothing, and if I dreamed about this, it would be the best dream ever. Unfortunately, to actually taste red velvet fried chicken, I’d have to go to San Francisco’s American Cupcake, where the general manager says “It has the classic red velvet flavor with a hint of vinegar, cocoa and sweetness.” Oh, and “because red velvet cake is incomplete without cream cheese frosting, the chicken is served with a side of cream cheese infused garlic mashed potatoes.” If you’re on the West Coast, please, go try this out and tell us how it is. – Consumerist
