There have been some major beauty moments at the Fall 2018 shows during Fashion Month including Pat McGrath‘s product teaser at Anna Sui, gravity-defying braids at Jil Sander and the holographic lips at Maison Margiela. As the shows were coming to a close, Giambattista Valli wowed with one of the most dazzling looks of them all, glitter face masks.
Glitter face masks have gone viral on Instagram thanks for their shine and skin-perfecting abilities. Makeup artists at the Giambattista Valli show at Paris Fashion Week took the idea to the next level by decorating a handful of models’ faces with a good sprinkling of sparkle.
Makeup artist Victor Embellin gave us a preview of the prismatic look on Instagram. He revealed that the makeup team used MAC Cosmetics Shine Mixing Medium and 3D Reflex Glitter to create the effect. The look was created by Val Garland, who shared a video of the process and described it as “glitterbombing.”
The glitter mask makeup might not come with the benefits of some of the skincare glitter masks, and the look is obviously a lot more time-consuming to take on and take off, but the masks were still one of the highlights of the shows at New York, London, Milan and Paris.
