nail art

I have what could conservatively be called a nail problem, and basically what that means is that I’m obsessed with doing my nails. For someone who’s not particularly fussy when it comes to my beauty routine, I’m a sick freak about my nails.

I love nail polish and own way too many, especially since I rarely branch out from my five or so favorite colors. But I also love a novelty manicure, some weirdo nail art, or ladies with crazy long nails. I love it all.

If someone you love has a serious nail addiction, you can enable them this holiday season with any one of the following gifts.

1. Ciaté Caviar Manicure Kit in Mother of Pearl

Ciaté, $29.41

2. Rescue Beauty Lounge Polish

All of their polishes go on super smoothly, and stay on without chipping. I love Killa Red and Stormy, but all of their colors are fantastic. Rescue Beauty Lounge, $18.

3. Deborah Lippmann Sparkly Polishesdeborah-lippmann

When it comes to sparkly polishes, Deborah Lippmann can’t be beat. I love her shimmer and glitter lines. On my wishlist: Hit Me With Your Best Shot (Co-created by Pat Fucking Benatar!) Don’t Tell Mama, I Love The Nightlife, and Lady Sings The Blues. Deborah Lippmann, $17-$19

4. Butter London Nail Polish in British Racing Green butter_british_racing_green

This is the best hunter green, ever. I didn’t think green would be flattering on all skin tones, but I knew nothing. Butter London, $15

5. Tweezerman Nail Clipper Settweezerman nail clippers

A true nail addict will really appreciate this gift. Target, $9

6. Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coatpink gel coat

This seems crazy expensive for one damn bottle of polish, but if someone you love has spent years with acrylics or have unbelievably brittle nails, this will restore them better than regular manicures ever would. Sephora, $30

7. Essie Matte About You Finisheressie matte about you

I love matte nails and I thought I’d have to go buy a ton of matte polishes. Now every shade I own comes with a matte finish. Ulta, $10

8. Sally Hansen Salon Insta Gel StripsSally Hansen Salon Insta Gel Strips

Gel manicures at home! This is great if you’re buying for a real heavy hitter who owns a mini LED Lamp, and isn’t scared of sticking her hands under it. Target, $14.99

9. OPI Rapidry Top Nail Coatsopi rapidry

I love this stuff. I’m the person who spends a good deal of time painting my nails (with top coat and bottom coat and everything!) and then immediately screws up every single nail trying to put pants on or something stupid. Now I just spray my nails with this business and my manicure stays in tact. Amazon, $10

10. Appointment with a nail artistnail art

Not just a manicure, but with someone who will paint intricate, crazy designs on her nails. My best friend frequently has the most amazing works of art on her nails–my absolute favorites were 10 tiny corgis! $25-$50. (photo via)
