The Best Beauty Of The 2015 Golden Globes Shows Old Hollywood Glamour Is The Way To Go
Sunday night marked another Golden Globe Awards and my, it was a lovely one! Given the amount of remarkable talent on television and in film right now, it was no wonder that so many guests and nominees looked absolutely incredible, as we saw on our best dressed list. While there were plenty of outfits that fell flat, there nevertheless were a great deal of beautiful makeup and elegant hairstyles that worked magically.
We already went over the worst beauty of the Golden Globes, now it’s time for the best!
Amy Adams
Amy often pulls back her hair or wears it half-up/half-down, but this is unbelievably beautiful so we’re hoping she does it again sometime soon. She’s like a redhead Veronica Lake!
Lupita Nyong’o
Um, duh. While we’re sad we haven’t gotten to see as much of Lupita as we did last year when 12 Years A Slave was up for approximately every award, it is still so nice to see her pop up once again. Naturally, she’s still perfect. Shock fills me.
Uzo Aduba
Is anybody else getting a Mary Tyler Moore from the breakout star of Orange Is The New Black? Uzo truly knows how to put a look together, wearing a gorgeously dramatic sparkly gown yet knowing to exercise self control with her hair and makeup, opting for a simple berry lip, smooth yet voluminous hair, and radiant complexion.
Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain. Jessica Chastain, Jessica Chastain, Jessica Chastain. She is positively killing it here with this asymmetrical hairstyle and smokey yet perfectly subdued eye and cheek makeup.
Keira Knightley
Say what you want about her oddly controversial bird dress, but her hair and makeup were fantastic. Those cheekbones deserved a nice dose of color, while her brows were excellently defined.
Conchita Wurst
Conchita, the famed drag queen of Austria who won the 2014 Eurovision Contest, looked striking with an intense smokey eye, tousled waves, and the best beard of the evening.
Lorde
A deep side part with her pulled-back hair was the perfect choice for those sleek look.
Rosamund Pike
I know everybody hated her ill-fitting Vera Wang gown, but this glossy, straight bob was totally on point. (On fleek? Is that what the kids are saying this days?)
Ava DuVernay
Filmmaker Ava DuVernay went with a glamorous front twist for her hair and an absolutely perfect makeup look, complete with a glowing dewy complexion and the perfect amount of smokey eye. Also, those eyebrows are enviably arched–somebody sign me up with her esthetician, thanks.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Center parts are back, as y’all know–just check out Julia’s fantastic one right here!
Helen Mirren
How is Helen Mirren such an incredible magic person? Plus, she supported free speech by wearing a very important accessory that evening–how could you not love her?

Lena Dunham
How gorgeous is this sleek, chic bob? While I admittedly wasn’t too fond of her eye makeup, Lena’s hair is absolutely perfect. Whomever blew this out needs to work on my rough, frizzy hair and smooth it out, thanks.
Quvenzhane Wallis
Everyone’s favorite puppy-loving little lady had an adorable hairstyle to fit with her equally cute outfit.
Amal Alamuddin
Hate all you want on those prom gloves, but her hair and makeup were so regal. This may or may not support the theory that she wore silk on her hands to avoid touching the peasants.
Julia Goldani Telles
This haircut, styled just like this, will hopefully be the #1 crop of 2015. And that makeup? And that dress! We suspect Ms. Telles will be one of the hugest red carpet stars of the season, so stay tuned.
Maggie Gyllenhaal
It is impossible to resist the perfect pixie cut.
BONUS! Gina Rodriguez
Okay, so her false eyelash fell out…because she was tearing up after making a perfect, quick portion of her speech about the Latino community wanting to “be seen as heroes.” And somehow she still looked amazing, and the rest of her makeup miraculously stayed on, aaaand she seems approximately perfect. We’re officially huge fans of her work, personality, and makeup.
