When celebrities complain about how hard it is to be famous, everyone rolls their eyes. …And rightly so; the massive paychecks, torrential downpours of free shit and all that fame and glamour and power ably cushion the twin blow of loss of privacy and pubertal nobodies saying mean stuff about them on the internet.
But when they don’t complain, we’re more likely to sympathize with the enormous pressure they’re under–especially to look a certain way all the time. While the entire entertainment media scrutinizing your every weight fluctuation and generous lunch is a more obvious celebrity albatross, their skin, too, is under the same microscope. Rather, that’s the only explanation for Lindsay Lohan.
When walking a red carpet, celebrities are faced with a tough decision: be pale and inspire legions of dumb internet comments about their disgusting paleness or slather on fake tanner and inspire legions of dumb comments/blog posts about their unnatural orangeness. Jennifer Aniston chose the latter:
The actress was in Toronto attending the Life of Crime premiere–she wore a slate gray Vivienne Westwood dress, lots of blonde highlights and lots more black liner. That may the source of the trouble here, the black liner is too harsh against the unnatural hue of her skin.
