Hairstylist Eugene Souleiman and his team sculpted select models’ long locks into sleek braids which started at the center of back of the head. They were then twisted into knots and buns to help them achieve a gravity-defying appearance. When models walked down the runway, the braids remained at unique angles which solidified the effect.
Models, makeup artist, hairstylists and fans snapped photos of the look backstage, including Instagrammers @ermakovasv and @piiahiltunen. From their photos, we can see how the hair is constructed to achieve the weightless effect.
If you’re looking to update your regular side braid, the hair at Jil Sander is one way to do it. You can copy the look exactly, or you can adjust the angle of the braid depending on how playful you want to be.
