One of the most irritating things celebrities can do besides staging obvious paparazzi photo shoots and whining about their lack of privacy on social media, is when they claim they never go to the gym but they can eat whatever they want. They say they have really good genes and their chiseled abs and defined biceps are thanks to their very good DNA. Ugh. Kate Hudson has an amazing body, but unlike most celebs, she admits that she works hard to stay in shape. *Claps*

According to Us Weekly, Kate admitted that she works hard to stay in shape. How does she do it? She claims she doesn’t work out a lot, but she does do it consistently. Kate also says that you don’t need to workout for a gazillion hours. You can get results with 20 or 40 minutes of activity. If she’s talking about insanely high intensity training where you want to throw up after 30 seconds, I’ll say she has a good point, but don’t think a 20 minute leisurely walk will give you the same results.

Kate also discusses her eating habits. And sorry, you have to eat right too:

“You [have to] work your ass off, that’s the only way. [And] you have to eat right. Everybody wants some sort of secret and there just isn’t, it’s just you have to work out.”

I’ll give Kate credit for not pretending that she doesn’t just wake up looking toned and stunning. She does go into the usual soundbite about exercising and eating well, but at least she admits the truth, that work is involved. Plus, she says that is a regular person who loves a carb-heavy burger. Bravo. Kate could easily have pretended that she doesn’t workout and most us would probably believe her. I mean, her mom is Goldie Hawn and she always looks amazing.
