The fun thing about a Ke$ha inspired makeup look is that you can really try anything. Feathers, glitter, blue facepaint… wear it all, throw on a body suit and some spandex, and you’re good to go.
Get morning after volume with this bedhead tutorial. For shorter hair, mist a volumizing hairspray throughout roots and lengths and scrunch with your fingers. I used a combo of Naturelle Volumax Shaping Spray and Aussie Aussume Volume Hairspray.
Piece-y and crunchy is good. It should look like you haven’t showered in a few days. In a hot way. Ke$ha has tan, freckled skin. Fake a natural, California glow with a sheer BB cream, like Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector.
Dust a bronzer with some shimmer where light normally hits your face, along temples, cheekbones, nose, and chin.
Start the eyes with a wash of metallic blue shadow all across the lid. I am using my trusty BH Cosmetics 28 Color Smoky Eye Palette. It’s OK to be heavy handed with this look.
Highlight the brow bone and inner corners with a champagne shadow, like Maybelline Eyeshadow Single in Champagne Fizz.
Using a charcoal glitter shadow like Stila Jewel Eye Shadow in Black Diamond, darken the crease (see a swatch here). Take a sponge applicator or liner brush, and apply this same charcoal color to the bottom lashline.
Brighten your eyes with a sparkly silver shadow. Apply Maybelline Eye Studio Color Pearls marbleized shadow in Silver Spark to the center of your lid using your ring finger.
Brighten up under your eyes with a concealer. I”m using Fake Up by Benefit.
For the full Ke$ha factor, finish with a dusting of gold glitter across your cheeks. You can find it online at CherryCulture.
Finish with heavy black eyeliner and mascara. The more you sweat, the better it will look!
Party on, monsters.
