Lady Gaga has been out of the news for a little while, thanks to her massive tour, but now she’s back and more Gaga than ever with the release of her new perfume, The Fame. The scent dovetails neatly with Gaga’s whole nebulous pseudo-philosophy about Fame and eating people’s hearts or whatever, because the packaging actually declares: “First of its kind, this perfume is an innovation in fluid technology. It’s black like the soul of fame, but invisible once airborne.”
She’s been teasing this thing for a while now–with threats that it would smell like blood and semen, with more deeply silly ad copy–but now she’s dropped the campaign. The very, very naked ad campaign:
So, basically it’s like a trip down the rabbit hole of the internet’s darkest Gulliver’s Travels erotic fan fiction. Or if there could be a Thierry Mugler campaign for such a thing.
The campaign was shot by longtime Gaga-collaborator Steven Klein.
