MAC Cosmetics has a long history of collaborating with fashion designers to great success.  The MAC x Brandon Maxwell collaboration is a tribute to the women who impacted his life and his home state of Texas. The Lone Star state reference is immediately clear from the packaging given that each products are decorated with the shape of the state along with Brandon’s signature.

The colors also draw inspiration from where the fashion designer grew up. It’s a collection geared towards desert-toned neutrals. Rather than the sandy beiges you might be expecting, there is a touch of pink in the shades for a flattering hint of color. Think Texas as the sun starts to go down. Brandon revealed on Instagram that the colors are named after every woman in his family.

The collection ranges in price from $18.50 for a Lipglass to $33 for a quad eyeshadow palette. There are four pieces in the collection in total: two Lipglasses, the aforementioned palette and a Lipstick ($19.50).

The colors are: Crystal Eyes (matte pale creamy rosy ivory), Britt Baller (VLPX/frost sparkling golden olive green), Lonestar Lynda (VLPX/frost cream nudge champagne frost) and Magic Mammaw (satin muted mid-tone dusty rose).
