We haven’t seen Andrej Pejic in a little while, but it looks like his massive success has blazed a clear trail for the mainstreaming of extreme androgyny. For a great example, check out this new Toyota ad, which comes as a delightful shock–and a stark contrast to almost every American car commercial ever. The spot features a beautiful model in a red bikini strutting toward a car, removing her outerwear and stopping for a sultry pose at the end of the suggested runway:

…That model is Stav Strashko, a male model, who ordinarily looks like this:

Stav gave an interview to Candy a few months ago (which you can read in full on his Tumblr) and said, “I realized that I was androgynous when I began to model. All the stylists put women’s clothes on me and then it struck me that I can really look like a woman. This wasn’t the first time I toyed with this: I remember myself as a child playing with my mom’s makeup a few times when she wasn’t looking. […] I get mistaken for a girl all the time and I’m used to it now. […] I believe that the mind sees what it wants.”

Congrats on being so beautiful, Stav. We wish your career a very Pejic trajectory.
