mary-kate and ashley's eyebrows

It’s been a big month for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: they’ve announced that they’re retiring from acting, they’ve hand-painted a billboard to find a wife for their sculpter dad, they’re debuting a new pair of fragrances, and now their eyebrows are the December covergirls for Allure.

Each set of brows gets its own cover. Ashley’s darker and neater pair are highlighted by a wispy white blouse, while Mary-Kate’s edgier arches are set against a black top. This is a not-so-subtle promo for their new fragrances, Nirvana White and Nirvana Black, which Sephora will preview during the holiday shopping season. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Black is Mary-Kate’s creation, with a “darker and more masculine scent,” and Ashley’s White is more floral and feminine. So for those playing along at home, they’re adhering to the exact same roles they played in every single straight-to-VHS masterpiece. I bet White smells like a really organized closet and Black smells like riding a skateboard.

“We wanted [the fragrances] to be very pure and happy–” Ashley tells Allure, and Mary-Kate cut her off to add, “–intimate and sensual.” Too good. Too good to be true. Their characters in New York Minute were REAL LIFE, guys!

Still, the twins insist upon breaking my tiny heart and swear they’re done acting for realzies. Ashley tells Allure, “I was reading scripts, and ultimately I just said to the people who are representing me, ‘I need to do things 100 percent. I don’t feel like I can give you 100 percent of my time.'” She’s a perfectionist. Have some damn respect. You’re talking to the former star of Fashion Party.

But even if they’re not planning on revising their roles as preteen witnesses to a museum robbery, they’ve got the whole fashion thing down pat. December’s dual Allure covers totally master the “no-makeup” look, and they’re beyond gorgeous. Their stylist for the cover shoot says Allure wanted to focus on “natural sexiness,” and I think they accomplished that. We can expect great things in the future from these women eyebrows.
