Technologically-advanced skin care products that can be used in your home are definitely the future of daily skin care routines.  Although we all love our spa visits, we don’t have the time or money to go as often as we would like.  The next best thing to do a visit to your favorite aesthetician is an at-home facial treatment using advanced spa technology.

Since I’m such a fan of at-home skin care treatments, I’m excited to share a new  skin care device called NuFace.  The FDA has approved NuFace as a medical device with cosmetic benefits for at-home use, which means that this gives us the ability to feel comfortable and safe performing treatments on ourselves in our own homes.

NuFace is a battery-operated handheld device that works by combining a unique electrical microcurrent waveform through the two globe-shaped nobs.  Microcurrent technology used in NuFace has been proven to lift, tone, and contour muscle and skin tissue through electrical stimulation.  It sounds painful, but actually the microcurrent technology is so small that you can barely feel a little tingling.  Some users report that the feeling is very relaxing.

I haven’t been able to try this product myself, so I was definitely very curious about any clinical results.  A third-party study showed that with subjects who used NuFace for five minutes a day for 30 consecutive days, there as a 67% reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, 13% reduction in sagging skin, and 31% reduction in skin roughness and surface irregularities.

For the millions of women who hate the signs of aging that show in their skin but are unwilling to make the jump to invasive restorative procedures (we all know I’m talking about Botox!), I do feel that NuFace is a safe way to work towards visible changes in your skin on your own.  This is something that you can do at home in your bathrobe whenever you have five spare minutes, and you don’t have to worry about scheduling any medical procedures.

You can find out more about NuFace at  The NuFace Kit is currently available at certain spas and online for $325.
