Can you believe Paris Hilton turned 35 today? It feels like just yesterday that she was 22 years old and wreaking havoc across America with Nicole Richie on The Simple Life. In the years since then, Paris has accomplished a lot: she’s written a book, appeared in movies, released an album, starred in multiple reality TV shows, designed handbags and shoes, and become a DJ. She’s an incredibly successful businesswoman and a philanthropist, and she introduced the world to Kim Kardashian.
In between doing all of that, Paris also found time to become a master perfumer, blessing the world with 20 of her own heiress-approved fragrances. Twenty! In honor of Paris’s 35th birthday, let’s take a look at her five best fragrances, ranked below:
Released in 2009, Siren was inspired by—you guessed it—mermaids. Surprisingly (and somewhat disappointingly) the scent isn’t oceanic at all. Rather, Siren is a floral and citrus-forward fragrance, featuring notes of apricot, honeysuckle, orchid, lotus; sandalwood, vanilla, and musk. If you’re a fan of Viva La Juicy, there’s an excellent chance you’ll like Siren.
4. Heiress by Paris Hilton
Heiress makes the cut for a few different reasons. First of all, check out that insane bottle—it’s covered in glitter! Secondly, the sillage is phenomenal with this one. If you’re a fan of the smell of bubblegum, you’ll be into Heiress. The notes in this perfume are of passion fruit, orange, peach, champagne, jasmine, lily, ylang-ylang, honeysuckle, violet, and wood.
As far as I’m concerned, Tease is the most mature fragrance in Paris’s entire collection. I say that for two reasons: 1) It’s not overloaded with fruit notes, and 2) The bottle is simple and classic (love those chic stripes on the box, too). Tease is a beachy blend of apple, peach, bergamot, white flowers, amber, blond wood, and sand.
Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton debuted in 2005 and is the heiress’s inaugural scent. If you liked Ralph by Ralph Lauren (and who didn’t?), you’ll love this perfume. Paris Hilton features notes of apple, orange, melon, jasmine, freesia, lily, tuberose, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, and musk.
1. Paris Hilton Can Can
And finally, la crème de la crème of Paris’s perfumes: Can Can. Inspired by Moulin Rouge! and “Lady Marmalade“, Can Can is a fun and fruity fragrance that somehow manages to smell like it could be top shelf, despite its $20 price tag. The notes in this perfume are of clementine blossom, black currant, nectarine, orchid, orange blossom, musk, and amber.
