I remember the first time I was instructed to use wrinkle cream as a preventive measure. I was in my early 20’s, and one of my friends’ moms, who is far and away the most beauty conscious of all my friends’ moms, wisely advised that while I may not have had crow’s feet or laugh lines yet, I needed to start using wrinkle cream now to prevent them from developing in the future.

I briefly took her advice, and then got bored with the process of eye cream, which involves painstakingly tapping the skin around the eyes so as to administer the cream without further damaging the area’s delicate epidermis.

Now, I have the beginnings of wrinkles appearing, and I’m still not interested in using wrinkle cream. Aside from the fact that I don’t think most of it works, my skin is too sensitive to be slathering it with all manner of chemicals. Instead, I try to drink a lot of water and maybe someday, when shit gets serious, I’ll get a facelift.

What about you?
