💜💎Amethyst Geode💎💜 For this look I was inspired by amethyst geodes! Sometimes I plan specific styles I want to try with certain color placements! I knew for this style I wanted to use glitter to create texture and shine to mimic the geode. I used big, chunky, iridescent glitter in the purple to mimic the amethyst points and used a clear glitter mixed with fine silver glitter to mimic the quartz edges. How do you guys think it lives up to the inspiration? ✨✨✨ I created the color with #socolorcult by @matrix #matrixpartner #thebtcteam #btconeshot_vibrant18 #btconeshot_unconventionalcolor18 #btconeshot_festival18 #btcbigshot_editorial18 #btcbigshot_creativecolor18 #btcbigshot_avantgarde18 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #hairgoals #colorfulhair #hairideas #besthair #framar #behindthechair #modernsalon #americansalon #esteticausa #beautylaunchpad #hairgoals #besthair #holosexual #holographichair #holohair #festivalhair #electricforest #coachella #glittergeodehair #geodehair

Geodes and purple hair were two of the hottest trends for 2017 and it seems like that is going to continue for 2018. That’s why the internet has been stunned when hairstylist Caitlin Ford combined both looks together to create sparkling geode hair.

We’ve had many different iterations of purple hair and a few unique geode trends (looking at you, geode lip art). Combined together, they create a next level look. In a behind-the-scenes Instagram photo, Caitlin showed how she created the magical geode effect on a model’s lavender bob. The base color for the look was the Matrix So Color Cult mixed with Total Results Rebonding System to keep her client’s hair healthy. She revealed that she created her own glitter gel using craft store glitter and hair gel.

👾✨Amethyst Geode✨👾 Who is getting good vibes from this sparkling beauty? I made my own glitter gel with craft store glitter and hair gel! The color is @matrix #socolorcult, and I also used the Total Results rebond system during prep to keep my client’s hair nice and healthy 👍🏻#thebtcteam #glittergeodehair #amethystgeode #geodehair #matrixpartner #btconeshot_upstylingvideo18 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #behindthechair #americansalon #modernsalon #authentichairarmy #esteticausa #imallaboutdahair #licensedtocreate #cosmoprof #hairideas #glitterroots #glitterhair #hairtrends #videooftheday #hairgoals #besthair #holosexual #holographichair #holohair #festivalhair #electricforest #coachella #amethystgeodehair

The finished effect genuinely looks like the model has a geode on the top of her head. It’s sparkly, multidimensional and very pretty.

We shouldn’t be surprised that Caitlin nailed the look considering she was the brains (and talented hands) behind the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino hair color and rainbow pits. We’ll be keeping an eye on her to see what dreamy hair color she comes up with next.
