It’s the time of year that every fashion lover looks forward to. It’s the time when the mammoth September issue magazines come out. British Vogue has just unveiled its September 2018 cover with none other than Rihanna as the cover star. And the singer is making a strong case to bring back pencil-thin eyebrows with her fierce makeup look.

Many were curious to see what British Vogue would come up with for this September cover given that it’s Editor-in-Chief Edward Enniful‘s first September cover. He definitely succeeded in terms of getting an A-list star and for having a directional look. Rihanna was photographed by Nick Knight and is serving up major fierceness with her neon gloves, floral crown and dramatic makeup look.

Hairstylist Yusef created the updo with Azuma Makoto handling the floral artistry. Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench was in charge of creating the dynamic makeup look using Fenty Beauty products, natch.

Rihanna is no stranger to playing around with beauty looks, but the skinny eyebrows were a surprise, especially in comparison to her naturally thick brows. There will likely be many bold brow fans who find the look too much of a change from #browsonfleek. But after a number of years of thick eyebrows (and viral brow trends) could it be time for a change? Only time will tell. If there’s anyone who can make us over-pluck our eyebrows, Rihanna is probably that person.
