The problem with being the face of a fashion brand like Balmain is that when one is modeling fashion, people tend to make one wear clothes. Being the face of a makeup campaign is way better, because a person can model makeup while also being totally naked.
Rihanna took advantage of that for her new ad campaign for MAC‘s Viva Glam lipstick, which she released on Instagram this weekend. The picture was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who were also responsible for Rihanna’s sexy Balmain shower ads. In the MAC pictures, she’s topless except for nude nail polish and an arm bra. Because it is a makeup campaign, she smolders in a shaggy, cool blonde wig, some major eyeliner, red lips, and cheekbones you could cut diamonds on.
That heavy, black eyeliner would be a whole lot of look with her shiny red lipstick, but Rihanna is careful to keep the look balanced. Normally one balances a heavy eye with a light lip or a bright lip with a light eye, but Rihanna just wears them both and goes topless to avoid her outfit drawing too much attention. Rihanna’s MAC collection includes both a lipstick and a lip gloss, so those glassy, red, patent leather lips should be achievable for the rest of us once the collection goes on sale on January 21.
Like with all MAC Viva Glam products, all the proceeds from both the Rihanna Viva Glam lipstick and the lip gloss will go to the MAC AIDS Fund to benefit people living with HIV and AIDS.
