My best girlfriend is here visiting from Nashville, and what is more fun to do than beauty?  Not much.  Certainly not the cooking and cleaning we did prior.  So we busted out this Peel Kit from Skin Amnesty

The Amnesty Peel, developed by board certified plastic surgeon, Matthew Galumbeck, MD has been adapted for home use.  Clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the Peel is powerful enough to restore youth and vitality to the skin, yet gentle enough to use every day.

The Amnesty Peel kit combines five potent alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids that target inflammation, the underlying cause of skin aging.  The Peel removes the surface layers of damaged skin and penetrates to deliver powerful antioxidants and chelators to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.

This glycolic free peel contains:

Lactic Acid (helps the skin retain moisture)

Mandelic Acid (helps to diminish blotchiness and uneven skin tones)

Tartaric Acid (powerful antioxidant)

Malic Acid (energizes the skin and a powerful chelator)

Salicylic Acid  (penetrates the pores and gives a deep exfoliation of the skin without irritation.

The most different thing about this peel is the roll on bottle that it comes in/applies with.  I have used many a peel, some you have to mix up liquids and powders, some come in pads – this one you just take off the cap, apply a thin layer, and flip over your egg timer (included in the kit).  They can almost sucker me in with that cute bag and the pink and green packaging, but honestly, this peel is really nice.  I had an ever so slight tingling, but I liked it, as it makes me feel like its working.  When your minute is up, you pump a couple of squirts of neutralizer into a cotton pad and wipe it over your face, then apply the rest of your serums/treatments/moisturizers and you are all done.  Quick, easy and cute – and it is mild enough to be used several times a week.  You can also use it as a spot treatment for blemishes and brown spots.  It doesn’t leave your face the slightest bit irritated and you can put your makeup on right over it (although I always do these sorts of treatments at night).  The Peel Kit sells for $100, however, this peel should last you a really long time, as I have done two already and it doesn’t even look like I have touched the bottle.  I would say a minimum of 20 treatments per kit, so that’s not so bad!  Get the kit at Skin Amnesty’s web site or at Gottschalks on the west coast.
