If you’ve heard of Sol de Janeiro, then you’re probably familiar with the cult favorite Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($45) which uses guaraná, a native Amazonian plant, for a perky posterior to rival any Brazilian supermodels. The brand is expanding its range just ahead of swimsuit season with the Brazilian Bod Buff Smoothing Scrub ‘n Mask ($25), an exfoliation treatment and body mask in one.
Sol de Janeiro describes the treatment as the first of its kind body treatment that functions as an exfoliator and a body mask. What’s more, when it is slathered on, it turns skin a bright yellow that matches Sol de Janeiro’s signature packaging color. Don’t worry because it washes away clear so you skin won’t be tinted yellow.
The Brazililan Body Buff is formulated with Amazonian river clay, crushed Brazilian crystals, rice grain and tropical volcanic pumice to exfoliate dead skin and enhance its smooth texture. Like the Bum Bum Cream, it contains the brand’s signature Cheirosa ’62 fragrance which features notes of delectable pistachio and salted caramel.
The mask can be used as a daily body scrub and applied to wet skin, or it can be used on dry skin as a mask. To make full use of the treatment, apply it to dry skin, wait five to ten minutes until its dry then step into the shower and allow the steam and heat to soften the product so it can then be used as a scrub.
The Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bod Buff Smoothing Scrub ‘n Mask launches today (March 13) at Sephora.com and will launch in stores at March 30.
