Lip Gloss is back and better than ever. MAC Cosmetics released holographic lip glosses at the end of last year and Katy Perry and COVERGIRL collaborated on some cat-shaped glosses. Urban Decay is now expanding its lip range with the Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss ($20). And these glosses are extra.
The brand first gave us a glimpse of the forthcoming launch on Instagram. The sleek glosses come in silver packages with a clear cutout front so we can see the shade. The tube has been specifically designed to be flat so it will fit snugly in your pocket. There are eight colors in the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss range and four different finishes: sheer, cream, metallic and holographic.
Tune into everything from blaring brights to soft neutrals in four different effects — metallic, holographic, cream and sheer. ??? (Shades: Left arm, top to bottom —Jawbreaker, Dirty Talk, Big Bang, Savage, Bang, Snitch, Candy Flip, SPL, Obsessed, Midnight Cowgirl ? Right arm, top to bottom — Fuel, 1993, Shadowheart, Backtalk, Rapture, Beso, Fireball, Naked, Snapped and Goldmine)
According to the Urban Decay website, all of the glosses are cruelty-free and have a long-lasting high-shine finish that isn’t tacky. The glosses are formulated with peppermint oil and vitamin E to hydrate and gently plump lips. Because this is lip gloss we’re talking about, the glosses also have a refreshing vanilla-mint flavor.
If you’re wondering about the “cushion” design, the glosses have a flexible, flocked-silicone paddle applicator which allows you to apply the perfect amount of gloss in one swipe.
We cannot forget about colors. Urban Decay says the collection features a range of chart-shopping shades. There are 11 mattes, 4 shimmers, and 7 glitters.
They range from soft neutrals to rich, boldly pigmented brights. Some colors to keep an eye out for include Jawbreaker (matte royal purple), Savage (matte hot pink), Naked (shimmering soft pink) and Candy Flip (metallic pale purple with bluish glitter).
You can check out the full Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss range on the Urban Decay website to figure out what ones you’re going to buy. Just be aware that they haven’t been released quite yet. We’re still waiting on an official launch date, but hopefully the glosses will be coming soon.
