We spend a third of our lives doing it.
Napoleon, Florence Nightingale and Margaret Thatcher got by on four hours a night.
Thomas Edison claimed it was waste of time.
I wish that my university had offered courses on sleeping. I think that might have been the only class that I would have stayed awake for. The whole subject I find utterly fascinating. Why is it that I now require at least 8 hours of sleep a night and sometimes more. Why is it that my husband can fall asleep at four in the afternoon but by eleven is wide awake? Just so many questions with very few answers.
And this is interesting and makes absolutely no sense to me. Why is it that a tiger requires 5.8 hours of sleep per day while a giraffe requires only 1.9??
Just think of all the work you would get accomplished in a day if you only had to sleep a couple of hours a day!!
