Here at The Gloss, we’re big fans of standout style from all over the globe. Mercedez-Benz China Fashion Week Fall 2013 is only halfway through, but there have already been so many remarkable and lovely things seen on the runways. From unique hairstyles to outfits I will most definitely try emulating come fall. To me, the most wonderful aspect so far has been the incredible makeup done by one of the world’s premier makeup artists, Mao Geping.
For the show of his MGPIN Make-up Styling Collection, Geping went big: he used crazy large lashes, designed large faux brows out of materials like coins and crystals, and glued flower qppliques onto models’ eyes. The results were extraordinary in their magnitude and, despite being way over-the-top, ability to be glamorous.
Sure, lots of shows from Fashion Weeks in the past couple months have had some great makeup, though the beauty industry tends to classify anything bright and remotely different than a simple liner/lipstick combo as “bold.” But the wild makeup at China Fashion Week is impressive and absolutely stunning — this, truly, epitomizes boldness in fashion. Hell, I think it’s bold of the models just to sport these looks considering how complicated and delicate-looking they are. Check them out:
I can’t get over how gorgeously that purple works for both the hat and her eyes.
