When I was growing up, I used to watch reruns of A Different World during rainy summer days. I loved all of the characters, but my favorite was Denise Huxtable, played by Lisa Bonet. She was the prettiest person I’d ever seen, and I was totally captivated by her on screen. And now Lisa’s in her forties and still as gorgeous as ever, and she’s passed on her flawless genes to her daughter Zoe Kravitzwhose father happens to be another gorgeous human, Lenny Kravtiz. (Seriously, all other celebrity children can pack it up and go home–Zoe Kravitz officially won the genetic lottery.)

Anyway, Zoe, daughter of Lisa and Lenny, is an actress and singer who attended the premiere of her newest film Mad Max: Fury Road last night in Los Angeles. She arrived on the red carpet wearing a gorgeous Valentino gown and a super pretty shade of shimmery gold lipstick. Let’s check out her beauty look first, because it’s to die for:

How gorgeous is that? The gold color is perfection. Also, Zoe’s eye makeup! Dotted eyeliner is a thing now, and this is definitely the easiest and most wearable way to do it. I love Zoe’s bold triangular cat eye, too.

Man, I feel like this is a moment where I’ve come into the light. If you’d asked me my feelings about gold lipstick yesterday, I would have told you that they were for club kids or ravers or #RichKidsOfInstagram or something. Now that I’m enlightened, I realize that gold lipstick is for everyone, not just the genetically blessed like Zoe Kravitz. Seriously, how pretty would that color be sparkling in the summer sun? Even normals like me could totally pull it off.

Oh, and because I promised a full view of the Valentino, here’s a shot of Zoe’s dress:

I love it! The gold thread in the sleeves perfectly complement the gold on Zoe’s lips. This look gets a gold star from me, for sure.

So, what do you think of Zoe’s gold lips and dotted eyeliner? Would you ever try gold lipstick? Let me know what you think in the comments!
