In the event you missed the FUCKING BEST letter of all time because you are FUCKING AWKWARD with the Internet, there was LITERALLY an email released by Gawker last week from a college junior (now unofficially known as “Deranged Sorority Girl”) to the rest of her chapter of the Delta Gamma sorority. The message came as a result of her fellow DG sisters apparently not speaking to Sigma Nu fraternity brothers at an event, so she very rationally threatened to “cunt punt” and “fucking assault” them. She is also now a noted commentator on world issues such as LGBTQ rights, Latinos, the elderly and being awesome.
After the email went viral, the young woman likely took a ton of heat and has now resigned from Delta Gamma. I have a feeling the “resignation” actually involved a whole lot of pressure from other members and leaders of the national organization, which is one of the oldest sororities in the country (and therefore has a lot of experience on dealing with people who are bad for PR, as well as a lot to lose if less members rush as a result).
Delta Gamma’s official Facebook page posted the following:Delta Gamma has accepted the resignation of one of its members whose email relating to a social event has been widely distributed and publicized through social media and traditional media channels.
The tone and content of the email was highly inappropriate and unacceptable by any standard.
No matter who released it to the public or how it reached such a mass audience, the email content should not reflect on any sorority woman in general or any fraternal organization at large.
This is a regrettable action by a college junior – a personal email that is now on view for a global audience. And as all reasonable people can agree, this is an email that should never have been sent by its author. Period.
This email should not be depicted in any way as standard or routine or tied to any official sorority voice. It is not an official voice or message and should not be construed as such.
For the young woman who wrote it, we can only express our regret and concerns for landing notoriety in this manner.
We now consider this matter closed.
While the case is closed on DG’s DSG, the comments are quite amusing. While lots of members see the matter as closed and are a-okay with the consequences she’s facing, it seems that there are many people who seem to believe, “Well, what she did was stupid, but only because she got caught.” And that the the member who leaked the abusive email should be
burned at the stake punished equally.
Really? Any of you?
See ladies, it’s just those stupid awkward bitches’ faults that they were being threatened!
Considering a person like Deranged Sorority Girl possessed some form of power in the sorority, I think I’d be a bit terrified to discuss the matter, as well.
Yes, it’s best to just cover up that sort of behavior so you can privately be shallow jerks.
OFF WITH HER HEAD.
Of course, Deranged Sorority Girl herself would apologize, “but I really don’t give a fuck. Go fuck yourself.”
