Like so many of you, I’m a huge fan of the film “Bring it On.” Huge. (The only fault I find with it is the casting of Eliza Dushku, my pet peeve, but that’s another post for another day.) From the gratuitous cheer scenes, to the romance between Kirsten Dunst and that one guy, to the nod to white guilt, it’s pretty much the perfect movie.
And that’s why I can totally understand the allure of Cheer New York, an adult group of cheerleaders that cheer as a hobby.
As a hobby! Why haven’t we thought of this before? Because cheerleading seems like so much fun — and here are five reasons why I would totally join Cheer L.A. if and when it ever launched (never you mind my abject lack of cheerleading or gymnastic skills):
- I feel like when you’re wearing a cheerleading uniform you can act like a total bitch and it’s totally cool.
- I’d like to be tossed into the air and have my time to shine be witnessed not only by my adoring fans but up close and personal by the gods.
- You can flash your panties to a crowd and be praised for it.
- The outfit doubles as a way to spice up your sex life.
