Alison Pill, star Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The Newsroom, pulled a Hayley Williams yesterday, when she accidentally tweeted a topless photo of herself to more than 14,000 followers on Twitter. If you’re interested in seeing the photo, you can at Crushable, but it basically shows Pill lying on her back, looking like a hot nerd in glasses with disheveled hair. It can otherwise be described as every self-taken topless shot ever. She looks great, though!

Pill promptly deleted the image and then, in a kind of unprecedented move, casually confirmed it and made fun of herself. She tweeted:

“Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet… Apologies. ”

Although we don’t know how “I didn’t properly DM this” is a “tech issue,” we do think it’s important to note that if you’re going to accidentally tweet a topless shot (and take note, because this is bound to happen more and more now that we live our lives on Twitter)… this is how you do it. It’s an accident, it’s no big deal. Only teenage boys will act like it’s the first time they’ve ever seen a pair of breasts, so all you have to do is offer up a little self-deprecating grace.

Pill’s fiancée, Jay Baruchel, also handled the situation with his sense of humor in tact: “My fiancee is an hilarious dork #imustgladitdidnthappentomefirst” and “Smartphones will get ya.”
