As if you needed more proof that Beyoncé is one of the greatest, most lovable stars of our day, here’s a video of her surprising a little girl named Taylon by performing with her. I’m not joking, I am literally sobbing and smiling uncontrollably right now as I watch this.

The story surrounding the video: “They found an inoperable tumor on her brain, and her dying wish was to dance with Beyoncé,” said Ivy McGregor of Philanthropy Program Partnerships. Bey granted her wish–and then some. Rather than just having her attend the concert, Taylon got to sing along to “Love On Top” and “Survivor.” Seeing her react is just…agh. Watch the video. You’ll see/sob, too.

Uh, wow. Like I said: sobbing.

After dropping an incredible visual album that everybody (including us!) went wild over, answering questions about feminism, and becoming Santa for a bunch of lucky holiday shoppers, I think it is safe to say that 2013 is officially closing out as Beyoncé’s Year. Then again, 2014 will probably be her year, too, but still…this month, in particular, has been all about Queen Bey and I’m a-okay with that. Sure, there were more controversial, more press-heavy, more boundary-pushing stars out there all year, but that’s what’s so fantastic about Beyonce–she doesn’t really need to be controversial or mean or flippant in how she behaves, speaks and carries herself in order to have people want to listen to her.

While I am admittedly one of those annoying, hardcore skeptics about celebrity personas and how they are so often manufactured by PR specialists, managers, agents and various companies, when it comes to stars making the lives of fans–particularly young ones–better, all my skepticism and analyzing melts away. If a star does just meet a little kid because his or her agent says so (not saying that this is the case with Beyoncé, whom I actually think seems the most genuinely dedicated to her fans of just about any current celebrity), then that’s okay, because that little kid just had the best day ever.
