Remember around this time last year, when Charlie Sheen was fiercely debated by people who thought he was an asshole and people who thought he was awesome? (And a few people who thought the whole thing was sort of sick, as he was obviously mentally ill?) Well, the tiger blood guzzler himself has finally named the retroactive winner of those arguments by admitting that he was not, in fact, “winning” during that time, despite his millions of dollars and harem of porn stars.

Via Rolling Stone:

“Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he’s off on some fucking tour, there’s nothing ‘winning’ about any of that. I mean, how does a guy who’s obviously quicksanded, how does he consider any of it a victory? I was in total denial.”

See, people? It’s not nice to make fun of someone who’s clearly in the midst of some kind of manic episode, no matter how many delightful quotes he spews out.

Then again, Sheen has never been one to completely invite empathy, especially when he says things like this about women:

“I’ve not dated girls because of their feet, just the length of certain toes and the shape of where things should be and they’re not. Hammertoes are bad. And the second toe being too long? That’s bad, too.”

Is this another symptom of his mental problems, or plain old douchebaggery? With Charlie Sheen, one can never be sure, and therein lies the rub. Maybe it’s possible for someone to be awesome, awful, and mentally ill, all at the same time.
