Just when you thought the world couldn’t possibly be more confusing (in a good way!), you hear about what could certainly throw your reservations about life for a loop. You will sigh, giggle and praise whatever god in whom you believe this week, after hearing this one: THERE ARE NO EASY BAKE OVENS FOR BOYS.
Easy-Bake Ovens aren’t exactly what you picture for a little boy, but that’s about to change.
After being none-too happy about the fact that her brother feared he’d be made fun of because of his need to get his hands on the Easy-Bake Oven, 13-year-old McKenna Pope made it her mission to switch things up and make the long considered “girl only” toy more gender neutral. The color choice? Purple .
The result is the “redesigned silver-and-black model” of the oven that is meant to lure in future chefs of all ages and genders! Pope actually started a petition to get this going and found herself with over 44k supporters — far more than those supporting my nephew’s need to have his toes painted, but I digress.
So what does this mean, besides the fact that men can bake too? That America is evolving, slowly but surely, and a male Julia Child is hard at work out there using too much butter.
